Hello and Merry Christmas, family!!
This week has been great! We haven't had as many lessons as usual, but we have stayed busy helping people.
We did service at a soup kitchen and all the people were really grateful. It was nice to be able to provide that kind of service to people. We invited the head cook to come to church and he came. We were really happy about that. We also had Peter, one of our investigators, come. He brought his son as well. He is comfortable being there and has made friends with the people there. He was going around and saying hi to lots of people. He is really awesome.
We helped another investigator wrap Christmas gifts. I'm glad I was trained in all the arts of gift wrapping. It came in handy. She has read all the way up to the book of Ether in the Book of Mormon. She said she was going to finish it by Christmas.
It has been really warm down here. When I said I was going south for the winter I didn't actually think it was going to be this warm. It is supposed to be in the forties all week. No complaints here.
Come the first of the year we are going to start getting really busy. Two thirds of our investigators will be back to school and won't have to worry about the holidays. We are working hard. We are loving being missionaries. And have a happy new year!
May the Spirit be with you!
Elder Durrant
